Transmission of citizenship through maternal lineage for persons born before January 1st 1948
The children of an Italian woman born before January, 1st 1948 (married to a foreign citizen) can request judicially Italian citizenship by maternal lineage.
Also descendants of those children can obtain judicial recognition of Italian citizenship (we refer to the grandchildren of an Italian grandmother born before January, 1st 1948) if their ancestors have never given up to Italian Citizenship.
